Sulaiman-Mount located in southern part of Kyrgyzstan. It is a part of Osh city architecture, occupying its center. It looks like freakish form five-domed limy place with caves, grottoes, archeological and architectural monuments, cult places. Some variants of names of the mountain are known: “Sulaiman Tag”, “Sulaiman Too”, “Takhti Suleimen” etc. Due to medieval sources the historical name of mountain is fixed also: in XVc. it has a name “Bara-Kukh” in farsi, that meant “separately standing or beautiful mountain” (Zakhreddin Babur); the same name in the deformed form – “Barak” was already known in the end of XIIIc. (Djelal Kirshi). But, probably, it is necessary to count the earliest mention of worship mountain the information of Chinese sources (first half of the I-st th. AD) about Guishan chen, city at highly respected mountain, located by some researchers in area of Osh. The modern name connected to a Muslim legend about stay here of prophet Suleiman (Solomon) in arab -language sources for the first time occurs in XVII c. (Makhmud-ibn-Vali).

The mountain is in length about 1140m., width 560m. in bottom; it is oriented from east on west. Height of tops is 1119 up to 1175m above sea level. In the end of 70-ese the mountain was included in number of the natural sites protected by the state. In 1977 it becomes the status of historic-and-cultural museum - reserve. In 80-ese complex works on definition of a security zone of a monument were carried out, and in 1997 it was authorized within the limits of 33ha. In 1995 Sulaiman-Mount was selected by experts of UNESCO as one of applicants in the List of World natural-and-cultural heritage. In 2000 it was included in the preliminary List in nomination natural-and-cultural landscape. The following criteria were used:

So, the mountain attracts with fancifulness of outlines, location, grandeur. Its southern slopes almost on half are open to people, and northern - are nude and severe. There are caves and grottoes inside it.
